Cost Savings
Users can set time commitments for instance-based services in the Compute, Database, and Data Analytics service categories of the Samsung Cloud Platform Console to reduce usage costs.
Apply for Cost Savings
You can apply for and use Cost Savings in the Samsung Cloud Platform Console. To apply for Cost Savings, follow the steps below.
All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management Click the menu. Navigate to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings Apply button. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan Apply page.
Cost Savings Plan Application page: enter the information required for the Cost Savings plan application.

Plan name Required Enter the name of the plan to create - Plan cannot be changed after creation

- When selected, recommends an hourly commitment rate based on the charges during that period
- If there is an existing applied Cost Savings, it is excluded from the billing history before recommendation
- Billing plan can be entered manually
View charge history Select Select the previous billing verification period to reference when recommending a pricing plan - 7 days, 30 days, 60 days
- If there is an existing Cost Savings applied, exclude the existing Cost Savings from the billing history

After checking the estimated discount amount, click the Create button.
When the popup that notifies a Cost Savings request opens, click the Confirm button.
- When creation is complete, check the created budget on the Budget Management list page.
- Grouping into a plan group shares the plan amount with other accounts within the organization.
- A single plan group cannot be shared.
Cost Savings Plan Group Management
You can create and manage Cost Savings plan groups.
Create Cost Savings Plan Group
- Organization Management Account can create plan groups for Member Accounts and share the committed amount between groups.
- Plan groups can only be created from a Management Account. However, if the account belongs to a plan group created by a Management Account, a Member Account can create a plan group that only it belongs to.
To create a Cost Savings plan group, follow the steps below.
Click the All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management menu. You will be taken to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings Plan Group menu. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan Group List page.
On the Cost Savings Plan Group List page, click the Plan Group Creation button. You will be taken to the Plan Group Creation page.
Cost Savings Plan Group Application page, after setting the basic information and target Account, click the Create button.

Cost Savings View detailed information of the plan group
You can view the list of Cost Savings plan groups that are currently applied or pending, along with detailed information. To view detailed information of the Cost Savings plan group, follow these steps.
- All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management Click the menu. Navigate to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
- On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings Plan Group menu. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan Group List page.
- Click the plan group name to view detailed information from the Cost Savings list. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan Group Details page.
- Cost Savings Plan Group Details page consists of Basic Information, Plan, Coverage, Utilization tabs.
Basic Information
You can view basic information about the plan group.

Plan
You can view the plan information included in the plan group.

- Register Cost Savings as a notification to receive alerts when the contract expires or when usage exceeds or falls short of the contracted rate.
- Cost Savings If the contract expiration date is approaching, a notification email is sent 60, 30, 7, and 1 days in advance.
- If an excess (Cost Savings Coverage not met) or shortfall (Cost Savings Utilization not met) in contract utilization occurs, a notification email will be sent.

Coverage
You can view coverage with Cost Savings applied to non‑contracted resources for a specific period.

- Since it displays based on the amount used up to two days before the query date, the current month’s amount is not shown on the 1st and 2nd of each month.
- Click the Detailed Excel download button to download detailed information about the Coverage amount as an Excel file.
Utilization
You can view the used amount, unused amount, and savings amount relative to the committed amount for Cost Savings.

Delete Cost Savings plan group
You can delete the Cost Savings plan group.
Cost Savings To delete the plan group, follow these steps.
- Click the All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management menu. You will be taken to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
- On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings Plan Group menu. Navigate to the Cost Savings Plan Group List page.
- After selecting all plan groups to delete from the Cost Savings plan group list, click the Delete button at the top of the list.
- You can also delete individually by clicking the Delete Plan Group button on the Cost Savings Plan Group Details page.
- When a popup indicating deletion opens, click the Confirm button.
Cost Savings Plan Management
You can create and manage Cost Savings plans.
Apply for Cost Savings plan

- All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management Click the menu. You will be taken to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
- On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings plan menu. You will be taken to the Cost Savings plan list page.
- On the Cost Savings Plan List page, click the Plan Apply button. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan Apply page.
- On the Cost Savings Plan Application page, enter the information required for the Cost Savings plan application.
- After checking the estimated discount amount, click the Complete button.
- When the popup notifying the Cost Savings application opens, click the Confirm button.
- When creation is complete, check the created budget on the Budget Management list page.
- If you group into a plan group, the plan cost is shared with other accounts within the organization.
- A single plan group cannot be shared.
Cost Savings Check detailed plan information
You can view the list of Cost Savings plans that are currently applied or pending, along with detailed information. To view detailed information of the Cost Savings plan, follow the steps below.
- Click the All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management menu. You will be taken to the Cost Management Service Home page.
- On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings Plan menu. You will be taken to the Cost Savings Plan List page.
- Click the plan name to view detailed information from the Cost Savings list. Cost Savings Plan Details page will be opened.
- Cost Savings Plan Details page consists of Basic Information, Tag tabs.

- You can register Cost Savings as a notification to receive alerts when the contract expires or when contract usage exceeds or falls short.
- Cost Savings If the contract expiration date is approaching, a notification email is sent 60, 30, 7, and 1 days before.
- When the contract utilization exceeds (Cost Savings Coverage not met) or is insufficient (Cost Savings Utilization not met), a notification email is sent.

Cost Savings Plan Termination
You can cancel the Cost Savings plan you are currently enrolled in.
To cancel the Cost Savings plan, follow the steps below.
- Click the All Services > Financial Management > Cost Management menu. Navigate to the Service Home page of Cost Management.
- On the Service Home page, click the Cost Savings > Cost Savings plan menu. You will be taken to the Cost Savings plan list page.
- After selecting all plans to cancel in the Cost Savings plan list, click the Delete button at the top of the list.
- You can also cancel individually by clicking the Plan Cancellation button on the Cost Savings Plan Details page.
- When the pop-up notifying termination opens, click the Confirm button.
