Cloud LAN – Campus useone Workplace integrated Network Operations

Overview

The operational environment of the enterprise network is becoming increasingly complex, leading to higher operating costs and security risks, and resulting in reduced work efficiency and productivity. Additionally, equipment replacements that are not performed timely due to cost constraints lower operational stability. Therefore, a simple, fast, and cost‑effective, user‑centric transformation of the campus network environment is required to match the rapidly changing business landscape.

Cloud LAN - Campus provides an architecture optimized for each site and a fast, secure network work environment. By offering user/device‑based security authentication, integrated wired and wireless network usage environment, and firewall integrated operation/management services, we support customers in focusing on their core tasks, and we deliver this as a cost‑effective, usage‑based subscription service.

This document explains how to configure a convenient and more secure workplace network environment using Cloud LAN - Campus and operate it reliably.

1. After establishing a dedicated line between the customer’s site and Samsung Cloud Platform, request Cloud LAN – Campus to create Campus Network Access and Campus Firewall.

2. Network and firewall environments are configured with architectures optimized for each customer’s site.

3. Users apply for or modify policies on the service portal, and administrators can manage and monitor policies through the admin portal. Integrated authentication management is performed based on users/devices.

4. Network authentication and network isolation can be performed using a certificate-based system with strengthened security.

Use Cases

Providing a fast and convenient network usage environment centered on the user

When a new user starts work at a site, or when moving seats, a considerable amount of time is spent on network connection and firewall requests. Cloud LAN - Campus allows users to connect instantly regardless of wired or wireless, and enables the use of a flexible and more secure network through network segmentation. Additionally, with IP mobility functionality and integrated firewall operation services, it provides a fast and convenient network environment for the site.

Cost-effective, flexible, and easy-to-manage site network operation

Cloud LAN - Campus can be easily managed as a usage‑based subscription service, eliminating the need for customers to operate their own network firewall infrastructure. It reduces excessive upfront investment costs and allows flexible expansion of network infrastructure and capacity when needed. Customers benefit from improved efficiency by eliminating separate maintenance, operational staff, and asset management, and can lower total TCO through a usage‑based billing model. Additionally, 24*365 management by a dedicated team enables fast and reliable site network operation.

Constraints

Firewall devices can use SECUI, Paloalto, and Fortinet.

If a specific SDN (Software Defined Networking) device is required, prior consultation is necessary.

Considerations

Billing is applied differentially based on usage tier.

To establish a dedicated network connection between the customer’s site and Samsung Cloud Platform, you must separately request a Direct Connect or Transit Gateway uplink.

After the service request, the architecture design, delivery, and implementation are carried out in agreement with the customer’s schedule.
